Unauthorized immigrant with nameless blue state license detained in highway operation

Recently, it was reported that ICE made an arrest in Oklahoma involving an undocumented immigrant from India. This individual, named Anmol Anmol, possessed a New York commercial driver’s license that curiously listed his name as “NO NAME GIVEN.” The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a statement, noting that they are collaborating with the U.S. Department of Transportation and local law enforcement to address the issue of illegal truck drivers and enhance highway safety after a serious accident linked to another undocumented individual.

During a routine inspection on September 23, 2025, Anmol was apprehended by ICE and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol at a truck scale along Interstate 40. Records revealed he entered the United States illegally from India in 2023. Following his arrest, he was sent back to India under the Biden administration’s direction and is now undergoing exclusion procedures.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin expressed concern over the situation, indicating that New York’s regulations allow applicants for commercial driving permits to evade proper verification processes. She criticized the potential risk to public safety posed by undocumented individuals driving large vehicles and transporting hazardous materials. Fortunately, she noted that Anmol Anmol is no longer a threat on the roads thanks to the collaboration between ICE and local authorities.

Despite the circumstances surrounding Anmol’s license and status, officials from the New York State Department of Transportation countered that he has legal status in the U.S. owing to a federal employment permit. They maintained that the licensing process complied with federal guidelines and noted that it is not unusual for some individuals from other countries to have single names.

Oklahoma’s Governor Kevin Stitt responded by stating that New York could distribute such licenses, but those individuals are subject to Oklahoma’s laws once they enter the state. This arrest was part of a larger operation from September 23 to 25 that targeted illegal activities along Interstate 40, leading to the apprehension of 120 illegal immigrants, many associated with unsafe driving practices.

Among those arrested, there were individuals with serious criminal backgrounds, including offenses like DUI, human smuggling, and drug-related charges. The focus on public safety arises from a broader national concern regarding illegal immigrants operating commercial vehicles after a high-profile incident in Florida involving an undocumented driver responsible for a tragic crash.

In light of these developments, ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheehan emphasized the importance of keeping illegal drivers off the roads and the success of the collaborative efforts in ensuring safety. He also encouraged law enforcement to engage further in programs that assist in addressing public safety threats.
