Bill Belichick, who is 74, and Jordon Hudson, aged 25, reportedly ended their relationship late last year. However, this news seems to have caught some individuals within North Carolina’s football program off guard.
On Friday, two sources from the Tar Heels’ football office shared with USA Today Sports that they were unaware of the breakup, which was first reported by TMZ, indicating that the couple quietly separated in late 2025.
TMZ’s report referenced sources close to Hudson who claim to have firsthand knowledge of the situation.
Despite their split, it appears that Belichick and Hudson have maintained a friendship and continue to collaborate on business matters, according to TMZ.
Another insider mentioned that Hudson has started dating someone new, but it’s unclear what her current relationship status really is.
Neither Belichick nor Hudson has publicly acknowledged the breakup.
The two originally met on a flight in February 2021, but their relationship didn’t become public knowledge until 2024.
This year, they were seen together at several events, including the Kentucky Derby in May and various college football games.
Belichick addressed his relationship with Hudson in an interview with the Wall Street Journal in September, stating that claims of Hudson attempting to exert influence over the football team were “ridiculous.”
“The way the story was picked up was a long way from that,” he remarked. “Like, ‘She’s trying to be the general manager of the team,’ and it’s so ridiculous.”
Moreover, TMZ noted that Hudson was present on the sidelines to support Belichick and the Tar Heels during their recent home game against Syracuse, which resulted in a narrow 31-30 loss.
The Tar Heels currently hold a 4-3 record this season and are set to face the top-ranked Miami Hurricanes on Saturday.
Last year, the UNC team finished with a 4-8 record, marking Belichick’s inaugural season as head coach.
