Under Biden Admin ‘We Have Seen Chaos at the Border’

Rep. Monica de la Cruz (R-Texas) spoke with Breitbart News about the ongoing illegal immigration crisis at the southern border and how it’s affecting her district along the border.

in interview Speaking to the Republican National Convention from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, De La Cruz said the ongoing migration crisis is putting “every community” in the US at risk, and that he has comforted the wives of Border Patrol agents as well as mothers of children killed by fentanyl.

“Under President Joe Biden’s administration, the border has been in chaos. Not only have millions of illegal immigrants crossed the border, but most concerningly, 350 illegal immigrants on terrorist watch lists been stopped at the border,” de la Cruz said. “The only people who are trying to come to America and do harm are those we know. We are living in frightening times.”

As previously reported by Breitbart News, approximately 60 million illegal immigrants who attempted to enter the United States in the first four months of fiscal year 2024, which began on October 1, 2023, were reportedly on terrorist watch lists.

In April press release A report from the House Homeland Security Committee noted that since the start of fiscal year 2021, “more than 350 individuals on terrorist watch lists have been arrested for attempting to illegally cross the U.S. southern border.”

De la Cruz added that another part of the ongoing illegal immigration crisis is the fentanyl crisis.

“I’ve held the hands of mothers who have lost their children to fentanyl. They have an empty seat at the dinner table tonight,” de la Cruz added. “This is a crisis and it needs to be stopped. We need President Trump to step in and stop this.”

De la Cruz noted stories of teenage girls and women “murdered and raped” by illegal immigrants in places like Houston, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia, adding that “all communities are at risk.”

Among the best-known cases are those of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student at the University of Georgia who was allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant while jogging on the campus of the University of Georgia, and Rachel Morin, a mother of five from Maryland who was allegedly raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant who “ran away” while she was out for a walk.

“This has to stop, which is why we want President Trump to be inaugurated in November. We didn’t have these problems when President Trump was in the White House. Under Joe Biden, we only see chaos,” de la Cruz continued. “I’ve held hands and hugged with sorrow not only with mothers who’ve lost their children to drugs, but also with the wives of Border Patrol agents who’ve lost their husbands in the line of duty, and children who’ve lost their fathers defending our country from illegal immigrants crossing the border,” de la Cruz continued.

The Texas congresswoman added that not knowing the intentions of illegal immigrants trying to cross the southern border was a “problem,” but said the intentions of the 350 people on the terrorism watch list were “known.”
