Buccaneers Season 2: Ending and Future Prospects
The second season of Buccaneers took a wild turn, much like its first. After eight episodes, we saw Nan (Christine Froses) in her tumultuous quest to marry Theo (Guy Remar), while Lizzie (Aubri Ibrag) seems to have her own complications. Things took a dramatic turn when, well, things got quite messy as Theo, who has feelings for Lizzie, seemingly finds a resolution to this tangled love situation. Sort of, anyway.

In the season finale, Theo makes a bold move by abandoning his duke title, ultimately divorcing Nan to be with Lizzie. This leads to some new dilemmas. For one, at a masquerade ball, Theo accidentally assumes Nan’s big announcement would be about her relationship with Lizzie. Instead, she was about to reveal her pregnancy with Theo’s child.
Another layer to the drama is the Duchess of Dowager (Amelia Bullmore), who is determined to protect Tintagel. She enlists Theo’s secret brother, Kit, to step in as the new Duke.
Executive producer Beth Willis mentioned that Theo’s late father seems to be tangled in some loyalty issues, knowing about unmarried children, which complicates matters further. “Dauger has had some form of connection with him over the years and hinted to Reid that he felt something was off,” she explained.
The season concludes with a handsome rogue heading toward Tintagel Castle, just as Nan discreetly indicates to Lizzie that she’s expecting.
What lies ahead for Buccaneers? What more can we uncover about Kit? Stay tuned as we share what we’ve pieced together regarding the upcoming adventures in Apple TV+’s Buccaneers.
End of Buccaneers Season 2: Who is Kit?
As for Kit, while he has yet to be cast, plans for the new Duke of Tintagel are already underway. “He’s in a precarious position, which seems almost like bullying,” Beth Willis noted. “[The Dowager] clearly hasn’t allowed him near Tintagel until now. If bringing in the worst version of Duke means saving Tintagel, she is certainly willing to make that sacrifice, highlighting her dedication to the estate.”
“The upcoming storylines will delve into a complicated and sensitive dynamic filled with secrets and lies,” she added, hinting at future troubles.
“And it’s definitely going to be very captivating,” added executive producer Joe Innes, with the creator and showrunner, Katherine Jakeways, enthusiastically agreeing, stating, “He’s certainly intriguing!”
Will Apple TV+ Confirm Buccaneers Season 3?
As for a potential third season, there hasn’t been an official update from Apple TV+ regarding Buccaneers. However, the producers seem to have plans for it, especially looking forward to what Kit will bring to the narrative. As of now, all we can do is wait for confirmation on whether the show will continue its pulpy, period drama charm.
