Undocumented immigrant supposedly killed teenager who attempted to prevent him from assaulting his mother

Authorities in Kentucky report that a 15-year-old boy was allegedly killed by illegal immigrants while trying to prevent the rape of his mother.

The suspect, 36-year-old Gildaldore Mandor Martinez, who is from Mexico, is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend’s son, Luis Lopez, during an incident in their Morehead apartment on July 20th.

“Fifteen-year-old Louis Lopez died trying to protect his mother from this criminal and illegal alien who was attempting to assault her,” remarked Tricia McLaughlin, the deputy secretary for homeland security.

“Gildardo Amandor-Martinez is a rapist and cold-blooded murderer who should not have even been in this country,” McLaughlin added.

Reportedly, Martinez and his girlfriend returned home from a bar shortly after 2:30 AM. Their commotion escalated when the mother began to scream, and her son entered the room, asking if he should call the police.

According to court records, Martinez ordered Luis to leave, while the mother allegedly reassured her son that they would discuss the situation in the morning.

After Luis exited, the suspect retrieved a gun and fired three shots through a closed door, hitting both Luis and his sister.

Sadly, Luis was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the face, while his sister was rushed to a local hospital for urgent care.

Martinez has since been arrested and faces multiple charges, including rape and assault.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) later issued a detention request for Martinez, seeking to ensure he is held until he can be transferred to federal authorities.

Officials confirmed that Martinez was in the U.S. illegally at the time of the incident, having previously attempted to cross the U.S.-Mexico border three times in 2021 during the Biden administration.

DHS stated that he was ultimately able to enter the country undetected at various times and places.

“The Biden administration’s open border policy allowed this individual to live freely in America and commit these atrocious acts against his girlfriend and her children, including murder and attempted rape,” McLaughlin criticized.

She further noted, “ICE is working to detain him to prevent Amandor Martinez from being released into American communities and to protect families from this threat.”
