Uzbek Terror Group Suspect Arrested in the U.S.
A man from Uzbekistan, wanted in his home country for alleged ties to a terrorist organization, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents earlier this month. This occurred after he was released into the United States under Biden’s administration policies.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed this information in a recent announcement. The suspect, Akhror Bozorov, 31, illegally crossed into the U.S. through the southern border in 2023. Although he was caught by Border Patrol at that time, he was released and later granted work authorization in January of the following year.
In 2022, Uzbekistan issued an arrest warrant for Bozorov, accusing him of being a member of a terrorist group, disseminating jihad propaganda online, and recruiting for jihadist activities. He was working as a commercial truck driver when he was taken into custody on November 9 in Kansas.
The DHS stated, “Uzbekistan authorities issued an arrest warrant for Bozorov in 2022 for being a member of a terrorist organization. He is accused of distributing terrorist propaganda calling for jihad online and recruiting terrorists to join the jihad movement.”
After being apprehended by Border Patrol and released, Bozorov was given a non-domiciled commercial driver’s license (CDL) by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.
Tricia McLaughlin, an assistant secretary at the DHS, expressed concerns, stating, “Not only was Akhror Bozorov—a wanted terrorist—released into the country by the Biden administration, but he was also granted a commercial driver’s license by Governor Shapiro. This should go without saying, but terrorist illegal aliens should not be operating 18-wheelers on America’s highways.” She added, “Biden and Mayorkas allowed countless terrorists to come into our country.”
Bozorov’s arrest isn’t an isolated case; he’s the latest illegal immigrant with a CDL to be taken into custody. The state of South Dakota’s Governor Kristi Noem announced that “Operation Midway Blitz” has already led to the arrest of 146 illegal alien truck drivers.
Noem and Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons pointed out that many of these illegal drivers predominantly come from California, Illinois, and New York, based on federal audits and enforcement actions. Unfortunately, there have been notable incidents where illegal alien truck drivers were involved in fatal accidents, including a recent crash in Southern California that killed three Americans.
Noem commented, “Far too many innocent Americans have been killed by illegal aliens driving semi-trucks and big rigs. Yet, sanctuary states continue to issue commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. The Trump administration is working to end this chaos.”
She also noted that Operation Midway Blitz has already led to the removal of over 140 illegal alien truck drivers in Indiana.
