Glenn Beck expresses surprise and a bit of optimism over a recent story involving Taylor Swift, who is often seen as an ally for LGBTQ and a supporter of abortion rights. A video showing Swift cheering for her husband, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, has gone viral. In the clip, she excitedly points to her wedding ring and exclaims, “That’s my husband!”
While Beck claims he is not particularly interested in Swift as a celebrity, he acknowledges her unique capacity to influence culture.
He states, “Many women who have never been encouraged to support their husbands’ interests are witnessing this moment. They may not realize it’s both meaningful and honorable to support their partners, and it can mean a lot to men.”
According to Beck, Swift’s actions could create a significant shift, giving many women the encouragement to openly identify themselves as wives, proclaiming, “That’s my husband.”
Before this newfound trend of supporting one’s husband became mainstream, Beck had been advocating for such encouragement among women himself. He recalls mentioning during a speech at a memorial for Charlie Kirk that women often overlook the significant influence they wield over the men they care about, suggesting it can help guide them on a fulfilling path.
Beck emphasizes that women often elicit the best from men when they recognize and highlight their potential.
“You see us as who we aspire to be. We can become that person, often without needing nagging; just your encouragement by pointing to a ring and saying, ‘That’s my husband,’ can facilitate that transformation,” he explains.
When couples uplift each other, Beck describes it as powerful fuel for their relationship.
He advises, “Want to enhance your marriage? Tell your wife every day how proud you are to be married to her. Acknowledge her strengths regularly, and you’ll see a change.”
Beck believes the culture sometimes dismisses this dynamic as “trad,” a term associated with the traditional wife idea that portrays supporting a husband as an outdated role filled with housework and submission.
“It’s not about traditional roles… You don’t need to conform to that image. Taylor Swift is not dressed in traditional homemaker attire,” he asserts.
“Her actions set a profound example for women globally… and millions of young women are taking note.”
