‘Unfortunate’ Adams Said the Same Things as Trump About Migrants

On Thursday's MSNBC show “Alex Wagner Tonight,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said New York Mayor Eric Adams (D) will be a Republican in 2024. “It's just unfortunate,'' he said. “This is a terrible debate about immigration and immigration,” former presidential candidate Donald Trump said of immigration and immigration. And, “New York is not like that. New York is defined by the contributions of immigrants to New York City. This is the location of the Statue of Liberty.”

After host Alex Wagner mentioned Adams' comments about immigration, Jayapal said: And unfortunately, Eric Adams [said] He said some of the same things, some of the same things, and I don't think New Yorkers liked it. I don't think it's New York. New York is defined by the contributions of immigrants to New York City. This is the place called the Statue of Liberty. And I think — I mean, this is difficult in a lot of ways. ”
