Police Search for Wedding Crasher Who Stole $60,000

Authorities in California are on the lookout for a wedding crasher who reportedly made off with a box containing roughly $60,000 in cash and checks.

Police received a call around 12:50 AM on August 31st about the theft occurring at the Renaissance Ballroom.

The suspect is described as a man in his 40s with a Middle Eastern or White Middle Eastern appearance and of average build. Surveillance footage captured him entering the venue and snatching a large box before fleeing. Additional footage shows him getting into the passenger seat of a black Mercedes SUV.

Witnesses reported seeing the theft unfold just after midnight, which is quite unsettling, considering it was a festive event.

One of the brides, Nadine Farrahatt, shared her distress, saying, “I was terrified. This is a very intimate moment. This is the happiest day of your life and it’s hard to swallow when you hear someone from the All Black came and grabbed it and ran.” She noted that the suspect had mingled with guests before slipping away with a gift after interacting with them at the bar.

Despite the situation, the couple is trying to focus on the positives. Groom George Farrahatt mentioned, “I think that’s one of the important things we’re trying to focus on. He either didn’t hurt any of our guests or do anything while he was there.”

In light of the incident, the newlyweds are offering a reward of $5,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the crasher. Glendale Police are encouraging anyone with tips to call (818) 548-3127.
