A United Airlines Boeing 787 was forced to make an emergency landing Friday night after “severe” turbulence injured 22 passengers, according to multiple reports.
Flight 85 was en route from Tel Aviv to Newark, New Jersey, when it was diverted to New York Stewart International Airport in Orange County, New York, around 6:45 p.m. due to strong wind turbulence. Photos posted by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) on Instagram showed multiple emergency vehicles lined up near the plane, which was met by New Windsor paramedics upon arrival at the airport. New Windsor paramedics said 25 emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics responded to the incident and “evaluated and treated multiple patients for mild symptoms,” according to an Instagram post. ” he said.
