United Airlines will offer free Wi-Fi on its flights via SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service. He said in the announcement Friday.
“Everything you can do on the ground will soon be possible on our aircraft, nearly anywhere in the world, at 35,000 feet,” United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby said in the announcement. “This connectivity will enable an even better in-flight entertainment experience at every seat, with even more content and a more personalized experience.”
The company said the technology will be installed on all of United's more than 1,000 aircraft over the next few years, and that “testing” will begin in early 2025, with the first passenger flights equipped with the service expected to take off later this year.

In X's post“With Starlink on board United Airlines aircraft, customers will have access to the most advanced high-speed internet in the world, from gate to gate and everywhere in between.”
Starlink is a subsidiary of SpaceX, owned by controversial tech billionaire Elon Musk, who endorsed former President Trump in mid-July after the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.
