On a Delta flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles, the passengers of the unruly plane had to be detained after allegedly biting and attacking another traveler.
The strange incident involving an adult male passenger came just after Delta Flight 501 landed at LAX on Monday night. ABC 7 reported.
The active passenger was taken to hospital by ambulance for psychological assessment, LAFD officials said. The ambulance later returned to the airport to investigate the traveler who was injured by the man.
“Delta will have zero tolerance for unruly behaviour and will work with law enforcement authorities,” spokesman Samanthao Afactaw told the outlet.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the man to kick and bite, or whether he would face the charges.
According to the FAA, there have been over 300 reports of six unruly passengers so far this year.
In 2024, more than 2,100 reports of unruly passengers were recorded.

“The FAA can pursue enforcement action against passengers who attack, threaten, intimidate or interfere with airline crews and propose a civil penalty of up to $37,000 for each violation,” the FAA said in a statement.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
