Few American women have seen children falling to near record-breaking declines in the country’s fertility rate last year. The data will be displayed.
About 3.6 million babies were born in the United States in 2024, according to the Vital Statistics Rapid Release Report, recently released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
This is a 1% increase from the record low number of births in 2023.
Since the Great Recession in 2007, the US birth rate has been steadily declining, with a slight birth rate in 2021. CDC data.
Data also show that older women have more children, and the report shows that the number of births among women aged 30-34 has increased by 1% between 2024 and 2023.
Births for women between the ages of 35 and 39 also increased by 1% during that time, with 40-44 births increasing by 2%.
Meanwhile, the birth rate for 25-29 women remains the same compared to the previous year, with the number of births for women in their 20s falling by 1%.
With the decline in US fertility rates, some within the Trump administration have warned of the perceived risk of a decline in global fertility rates.

Trump proposed to reporters on Tuesday to support the idea of giving money to his mother after giving birth to a child.
