US Conducts First Confirmed Attack in Venezuela: REPORT

U.S. Launches Drone Attack in Venezuela

The CIA has reportedly conducted a drone strike on a port in Venezuela on Christmas Eve, marking the first known U.S. military action against the country, according to sources familiar with the situation.

This strike targeted a remote wharf that is believed to be utilized by the infamous Torren de Aragua gang as a storage site for drug trafficking. CNN highlighted this development on Tuesday, noting that no casualties were reported and that Venezuelan officials have not confirmed the incident.

President Trump initially disclosed the operation during a radio broadcast in New York last Friday. He later acknowledged that a reporter mentioned hearing a “large explosion” near the pier area on the following Monday, right before his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The drone strike represents a significant escalation, possibly paving the way for a ground conflict with Venezuela. Over recent months, the U.S. has been strengthening its military presence in the southern Caribbean, primarily through the seizure of sanctioned oil tankers and targeting cartel-operated vessels that are involved in drug trafficking to American shores.

This buildup has led to speculation that the Trump administration may be gearing up for a direct clash with President Maduro or even aims for a change in regime. Since the operation commenced in September, the U.S. has reportedly taken out at least 107 individuals suspected of being involved in human trafficking. Notably, a recent milestone was reached with the strike on the 30th drug boat on Monday.

The CIA has yet to respond to requests for comments regarding the drone strike.
