The U.S. Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine, issued the warning after receiving “specific information regarding the possibility of a significant air attack” that was said to have taken place on Wednesday.
The embassy in Ukraine's capital has been temporarily closed following the alert, and staff have been asked to prepare to evacuate to designated locations.
“The U.S. Embassy recommends that U.S. citizens be prepared to evacuate immediately in the event an air alert is issued,” the statement said.

Employees are asked to take the following steps:
- Monitor local media updates
- Identify evacuation sites before air warnings are issued
- Please evacuate immediately when an air warning is issued.
- In the event of an emergency, follow the instructions of Ukrainian authorities and first responders

This comes after Ukraine fired a long-range US-provided missile at Russia on Tuesday, Kiev's first launch in the 1,000-day war, and was approved by President Biden on Sunday. It was done.
