U.S. troops in the Middle East destroyed a Houthi drone in Yemen within the past 24 hours, the military said on Friday.
Separately, U.S. Central Command said troops destroyed three Houthi unmanned surface vessels operating off the Yemeni coast.
“These weapons were determined to pose an imminent threat to U.S. and coalition military and commercial shipping in the region,” Central Command said in a statement. “These actions were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure.”

U.S. forces have been battling Iranian-backed Houthi drones and militias for months following attacks on merchant ships in the Mediterranean by the Houthis, who began targeting commercial vessels in opposition to Israel’s war against Hamas.
Last week, Israel launched surgical strikes against the Houthis after the terrorist group launched attacks. Lethal drone in Tel AvivAs a result, one Israeli was killed, at least 10 were injured, and buildings were severely damaged.
The attack took place near the US Consulate in Tel Aviv.

“The fires that are burning in Yemen right now can be seen across the Middle East,” Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said after the attacks in Yemen. “The first time the Houthis tried to harm Israeli citizens, we struck them, and we will do so wherever it is needed.”
