The US military said it destroyed two Houthi drones and one unmanned surface vessel in the Red Sea.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that it had destroyed one Iranian-backed Houthi unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and one unmanned surface vessel (USV) in Houthi-controlled territory in Yemen within the past 24 hours.
The US military said it had determined the UAVs and USVs posed a “clear and imminent threat” to US and coalition forces and commercial shipping in the Middle East region.
“This action was taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S. and coalition military and commercial vessels,” CENTCOM said.
