US offers up to $10M reward for info that derails Hamas financial network

The State Department is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the destruction of the financial networks of Hamas, a terrorist organization in conflict with Israel.

Department's Rewards for Justice Program seeks information on five financial facilitators who help manage Hamas's investment portfolio and support the group's activities.

They are seeking information on Amer Kamal Sharif al-Shawa, Ahmed Sadu Jareb and Walid Mohamed Mustafa Jadallah, who are operatives and members of Turkey's Hamas network. The ministry said in a release on Friday that it was also seeking information on Abdelbassit Hamza Elhassan Hair and Mohammed Ahmad Abd al-Daim Nasrallah from Sudan.

Alshawa is the CEO of Trend GYO and has served on the boards of several Hamas investment portfolio companies, the agency said.

Jareb is Hamas's investment portfolio chief, coordinating the activities of Hamas-affiliated companies and officials. According to the ministry, Jadara serves on the boards of several investment portfolio companies.

Abdelbassit Hamza Elhassan Khair (“Hamza”) is a Sudanese-based Hamas financier who has managed several companies in the group's investment portfolio. The department said he was involved in transferring nearly $20 million to Hamas officials, several of whom are considered Specially Designated Global Terrorists.

Sunday's announcement said he has long-standing ties to al-Qaeda and companies associated with Osama bin Laden.

Muhammad Ahmad Abd al-Daim Nasrallah is a long-time operative of Ham with close ties to Iranian entities. The ministry said he was involved in transferring tens of millions of dollars to Hamas.

The ministry is looking for information that could lead to the identification and disruption of Hamas's sources of income and “key financial facilitation mechanisms,” as well as its key financiers and facilitators.

The ministry is investigating potential criminal schemes involving Hamas-owned or controlled financial institutions, companies and investments, front companies engaged in the group's dual-use technology, and Hamas members who have a financial interest in Hamas. The ministry said it was appealing for information.

The State Department designated Hamas a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 1997 and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist Organization in 2001.

Anyone with information can contact the Rewards for Justice team via Signal, Telegram or WhatsApp. Information “will be kept strictly confidential.”

The ministry has been seeking information on Hamas's funders since at least December 15.

“The following Hamas operatives only fund the group’s terrorist attacks and do not bring any benefits to the people of Gaza.” Rewards for Justice posted online last month. “If you have any information about these individuals, please let us know. You may be eligible for compensation and reassignment.”
