USD/CHF remains above the 200-day moving average as the inverse head-and-shoulders pattern holds.

Euro remains steady above 1.1700 as attention shifts to ECB Lagarde and the Trump-Xi meeting

The USD/CHF exchange rate held steady on Wednesday as traders awaited the Federal Reserve’s decision on monetary policy, which many anticipate will result in no change to interest rates. As the market stands, the pair is at 0.7932, showing little movement.

USD/CHF Price Prediction: Technical Outlook

Current price movements indicate that the “inverted head and shoulders” pattern persists, with the USD/CHF trading above the 200-day simple moving average (SMA) of 0.7905. This level is often considered a long-term trend indicator by investors and algorithms.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) suggests bullish momentum, even if its slope remains flat, which signals some uncertainty among traders.

The first significant resistance for the USD/CHF lies at the psychological mark of 0.7950, followed by the swing high from June 11 at 0.8013. Clearing this would open the way toward the high from March 31 at 0.8042. Interestingly, this also aligns with a target goal from the “reverse head and shoulders” pattern set above 0.8050.

On the flip side, if the pair falls below the 200-day SMA, it could drop past the 0.7900 level. Crossing beneath this threshold would reveal a convergence with the 50-day SMA and the low from June 4 at 0.7868, followed by a 100-day SMA at 0.7841. Further down, we have the crucial level of 0.7800.
