U.S. Central Command said Friday that Iran-backed Houthi rebels fired a ballistic missile at the aircraft carrier Khany in the Gulf of Aden.

Centcom said the projectile was “successfully shot down” by an American destroyer and there were no reports of injuries.

The attack was the 37th attack by the Houthis on commercial ships and US naval vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November 19.

In recent weeks, actions by Yemeni terrorist groups have disrupted maritime traffic, and the U.S. military has responded with strikes.
