In a series of incidents over several hours, the United States successfully shot down a ballistic missile fired from Yemen, destroyed three Iranian drones near a U.S. warship, and destroyed a Houthi ground control station, according to U.S. Central Command. and destroyed additional Houthi drones.
Iran-backed Houthi rebels fired an anti-ship ballistic missile at around 8:30 pm Sanaa time on Wednesday. Centcom said the missile left Yemen’s Houthi-held territory and headed for the Gulf of Aden, where it was successfully shot down by the USS Carney.
Then, at approximately 9:10 p.m., the USS Kearney engaged and shot down three nearby Iranian drones. No injuries or damage were reported in either incident.
The two attacks come as US forces have been engaged in battles with Houthi drones across the region in recent weeks.

Fox previously reported that U.S. forces engaged multiple Houthi targets early Thursday, “posing an imminent threat” to U.S. forces and commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
