Utah taxpayers should not fund a billion-dollar project that benefits private ski resorts, according to Riverton, Utah. Scrutiny under the new Trump administration.
In an exclusive statement to Breitbart News on Thursday, Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs criticized the use of public funds on large ski lift projects, claiming that private interests to taxpayers would be prioritized.
“The government's job is not to choose winners or losers. It does just that by spending more than $1 billion in taxpayer funds to transport skiers to two resorts,” he said.
“It is the taxpayers' role to step into the bill to support two ski resorts in an extension of their imagination,” he added.
