A Utah mother is suspected of kidnapping her four young children and fleeing to Europe, motivated by her belief in an impending apocalypse. In her haste, she left behind a strange “to-do list,” which seemed to serve as a guide to erase her tracks.
Kendall Seymour, the father of the three children involved, reported on GoFundMe that his ex-wife forged their children’s passports and left behind unsettling notes at their home.
One of the notes contained what seemed like a “delusional message” urging her to go to Italy by Christmas, alongside a to-do list that included:
- shred documents
- destroy identification photos
- throw away your cell phone
- buy a prepaid phone
Elecia Seymour reportedly took her children on a one-way Delta flight from Salt Lake City to Croatia on November 30. On December 10, an endangered or missing persons advisory was issued for the children: 11-year-old Landon Hal Seymour, 8-year-old Levi Parker Seymour, 7-year-old Hazel Ray Seymour, and 3-year-old Jacob Kurt Brady, the latter being from a previous relationship.
As it stands, Elesia faces four counts of interference with custody, which is a third-degree felony, along with a temporary emergency protection order and a non-bail arrest warrant. The case is under investigation by the FBI and local authorities, with hopes that the state warrant might escalate to a federal level, enabling Interpol to get involved in the search for her mother.
Kendall has begun raising money to travel to Europe in an effort to reunite with his children, aiming to minimize any trauma they may face from this experience. He mentioned that any funds exceeding the flight costs would be used for the necessary medical expenses following their ordeal.
As of Sunday afternoon, neither the children nor their mother has been located.
