Virgil van Dick said he didn’t put any pressure on Trent Alexander Arnold to stay in Liverpool, saying his teammates believed he deserved his glory moment in Sunday’s 1-0 victory at Leicester. The winner of Alexander Arnold – the first left-footed goal of 23 in his career – has taken Liverpool to the 20th league title.

Liverpool will be able to seal the Premier League on Wednesday if Arsenal loses at home to Crystal Palace, and otherwise secure it at home against Tottenham on Sunday. The Liverpool captain said that being clearer at this stage “has passed my wildest dreams.”
“I think we forget that we’re dealing with humans,” Van Dick said of Alexander Arnold, who returned from an ankle injury. “Sometimes, he has gone through so many moments over the last few months and everyone has an opinion on how he is doing. [but] That’s just a small part of my life these days.
“So when he gets that big goal, I think he deserves to step up to that particular moment and soak it all up.
When asked if he had spoken to Alexander Arnold about his future, Van Dick replied, “I think he was already under a lot of pressure, so there’s no point in putting him there.”
Liverpool players will report their training on Wednesday after two days of vacation. Van Dik said Slot deserves praise for taking Liverpool to the “next level” and adapting seamlessly from life with Feynord and Eredivisy in his first season.
“We must also remember that we were a team that was playing until April last year, so we had the quality and we couldn’t finish it.
“But listen, the staff deserve all the credits too. Come from the Netherlands and improve so many players in the way we play and give you confidence in how you play without preseason. [because of the schedule last summer] And without a signature, really. ”

Van Deek said the team may be called up on Wednesday, as was done in June 2020 when Manchester City won the title in June 2020 after the loss at Chelsea and handed the crown to Liverpool. “I’m hoping Arsenal will win at home, but if you think so, I think it’s good to be with you,” Van Dick said. “But it may be the appearance, but we’ll discuss it in the next few days.”
