Van Jones scorches Harris for giving Democrats ‘freedom’ from ‘having to run anything in Washington DC’

Former Obama adviser Van Jones accused Democrats of a series of unreasonable errors that led to their political defeat by Republicans.

Former Obama adviser Van Jones previously praised Harris' campaign as “about freedom” and “realigning” the Democratic Party. But now that she and Democrats have suffered a series of defeats, his approach changed at Wednesday's Dealbook Summit.

“There's a calculation within the Democratic Party,” Jones said. “Kamala Harris promised us freedom…well, she promised us freedom, because we would be freed from having to run something in Washington, D.C.” That's not what we signed up for, that's what we got.”

He then spoke with Republicans, arguing that Republicans and Democrats have vastly different approaches to dissidents.

“I want the party to take this opportunity to look at the fact that we kicked all the traitors out of this party. There was a rebellion in our party in 2016. It was called Bernie Sanders. You. You also had a rebellion in your party in 2016. It was called Donald Trump. Your rebels won, our rebels lost, and our party rebels have been kicked out ever since. ” he said.

He then listed a series of high-profile figures who were so alienated from Democratic politics that they allied themselves with the MAGA movement.

“RFK was a traitor within the party. He wanted to stand up to Joe Biden squarely, but the Democratic National Committee wouldn't let him and kicked him out. It doesn't matter if he comes off the list. No. Don't forget that Elon Musk was Andrew Yang.'' Four years ago, the Democrat dropped out of the race. Joe Rogan was very nice to Michelle Obama. he was a candidate. So something happened in this party. The rebels in this party feel there is no place for them anymore, and we have to be honest about that. ”

Nevertheless, the adviser-turned-commentator praised President Biden, even though he said he should have passed the baton a long time ago.

“I love Joe Biden. Joe Biden picked me up out of the puppy heap and gave me the opportunity to work with all of you. I love him. He walked away. , he should have let other people in this party step up to bat, but he didn't.'' So we paid the price.'' ”
