President Donald Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, surprised reporters on a Wisconsin tarmac on Wednesday by attempting to confront Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz when they arrived by plane at roughly the same time.

“I thought I’d pop in and get a good look at the plane because it could be my plane in a few months,” the Ohio senator told reporters at the campaign trail after approaching Air Force Two.
“I also thought people might feel lonely because the Vice President hasn’t answered reporters’ questions for 17 days.”
Ms. Harris and Mr. Walz posed for photos with Girl Scout Troop 3307 on the runway, just before Mr. Vance grazed the base of their first joint Midwestern campaign.
The Harris campaign tried to poke fun at Vance by posting a video of his plane landing at Eau Claire’s airport with the TikTok-style caption, “All of a sudden I hear this rousing raspy voice.”
“Please deep clean AF2 because God knows what @KamalaHarris and her team did there,” Trump Vance campaign spokesman Stephen Chang posted to X. “The smell of that plane alone would be insane.”
Vance also used his clash with Harris to criticize her for not giving an extended interview or a full press conference since launching her campaign on July 21.st After President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
“I wanted to go and say hello to the vice president and ask him why Kamala Harris is refusing, why she’s refusing to answer questions from the media,” Vance said. “I don’t think the vice president waved to me as he was driving away.”
He said Harris’ refusal to give an interview was “an insult” to the American people.
“I want her to tell me what she wants to do and also explain why each of the roles she’s had has changed,” Vance said.
“She wants to defund the police while posing as a tough-on-crime prosecutor. She’s a border czar while opening up America’s southern border.”
Vance concluded: “She is the one who has to answer questions from the media, and her running for you is a disgrace and an insult to the American people.”
Meanwhile, the vice president spoke privately to reporters for four minutes on Tuesday afternoon and five minutes on board the jet on Wednesday, answering several questions, but his answers were not published.
