Vice President JD Vance's visit to a local ski resort in Vermont was suspended on Saturday after hundreds of protesters gathered to support Ukrainian President Volodymea Zelensky.

The incident forced Vance and his family to move to “a private location” after protesters flocked to the Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont, where Vance and his family were on vacation.

Protesters were seen lined up along the ice streets, holding signs of accusing him of being a “Putin Phoen” and “Nazi.”

Counterprotesters also appeared and wore the flag that “makes America Great” in support of Vance and the Trump administration.

Talking to one local skier Fox News “People who protest against Vance are idiots,” he added.

The protest followed a fierce exchange between Vance and President Donald Trump with the White House's Ukrainian leader.

Even before the White House exchange, protesters were preparing to demonstrate, and the clash between the Trump administration and Zelensky only strengthens their resolve.

The famous conference, which was expected to end with a contract that provided the US with access to Ukrainian rare earth minerals, has turned sour as President Trump claimed Zelensky was “gambling with World War II.”

Throughout the conference, Vance accused Zelensky of “trying to sue this in front of the American media,” and overall accused him of being ungrateful to the hundreds of millions of people the US already offers.

Vance also called Zelensky to force drafting to continue the war effort, saying: We should thank the President for trying to end this conflict. ”

Zelensky shows that the United States can “feel” war “in the future” as a result of Russian invasions.

Before a meeting with Zelensky at the White House, Vermont Republican Gov. Phil Scott urged protesters to “be respectful.”

“I hope Vermonters remembers the Vice President on family trips with young children. We don't always agree, but we should be respectful,” Scott said Thursday.

“We hope they have the opportunity to welcome them to Vermont and experience our condition and what makes Vermont special.”

President Trump told media that Zelensky could return to the White House “when peace is ready,” but it is currently unclear whether deals will take place between the US, Russia and Ukraine.
