Vance: Iran Agreement Will Change the Middle East and Prevent Nuclear Weapons

Iran Agreement Could Transform Middle East, Says US Vice President

US Vice President J.D. Vance remarked that the recent deal brokered by President Donald Trump with Iran could “transform” the Middle East and ensure that Iran “will never have nuclear weapons.”

As President Trump celebrated his 80th birthday, he announced that the agreement between the US and Iran was “completed.” This deal involves lifting the blockade of Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz and ending military operations in the area. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, acting as a mediator between Washington and Tehran, indicated that the agreement is set to be formally signed in Switzerland on Friday.

While discussing the deal on Fox News, Vice President Vance described it as a “huge moment for the United States” and praised Trump’s leadership and the team behind the negotiations.

Though the complete terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, Vance assured that it includes provisions that prevent Iran from pursuing or acquiring nuclear weapons.

Vance highlighted that there could be “real benefits” if Iran abides by the deal, although this would hinge on the US’s ability to “verify” Iran’s commitments.

“If Iran follows through on this deal, the Middle East will fundamentally change over the next 50 years,” he stated, adding it could end wars and enhance investment opportunities, resulting in increased prosperity and lower energy costs for Americans.

Reflecting on the historical context, Vance noted, “This part of the world has been a basket case for my lifetime and longer than that.” He emphasized the importance of tackling the Iranian nuclear threat to pave the way for a new era of moderate prosperity.

The Vice President pointed out that the agreement might reduce the US’s need to invest time and resources in managing the Middle East, potentially leading to a situation favorable for Americans. “This is a huge victory, and it all happened because the president stuck with it,” he added.

He expressed confidence that the American people’s patience had allowed this administration the opportunity to address longstanding issues related to state-sponsored terrorism and nuclear ambitions. Vance proclaimed that the deal could create a transformative space for cooperation among Gulf Arab allies, Israel, and hopefully Iran moving forward.

Vance concluded by highlighting the potential positive impact on American consumers, particularly regarding high gas prices. This deal, he suggested, could lead to lowered energy costs and foster long-term prosperity in the Middle East, which would ultimately benefit the American populace as well.
