Vice President JD Vance expressed his sadness to Christians around the world after Pope Francis’ death on Easter on Monday.
Vance met the clergy on Easter Sunday the day before his death, but took him to X to share the meaning of pathetic dol with Christians from around the world who loved him.
“I just learned of Pope Francis’ passage, and my heart is directed at millions of Christians around the world who love him,” Vance wrote.
“He was obviously very ill, but I was happy to see him yesterday. But I always remember him for the Homily below, which he gave to Covid on a very early day. It was really, really beautiful,” he added. “May God rest his soul.”
At Easter Sunday’s meeting, the Pope gave Vance what appeared to be an Easter gift for his children, blessed rosary beads for each member of his family, and a Vatican tie.
The Pope also made a surprising appearance at St. Peter’s Square to bless Easter Sunday.
President Donald Trump expressed his sadness for his execution on Monday morning.
“Pope Francis rests in peace! May God bless him and all who loved him!” he wrote in the Truth Social Post.
Pope Francis, who passed away at 88 at Casa Santa Maria in the Vatican at 7:35am local time, has been leading the Catholic Church since 2013.
He was recently in poor health and was hospitalized at Gemeri Hospital in Rome after breathing a problem caused by double pneumonia in February.
