Vanessa Trump Shares Cancer-Free News
Vanessa Trump, 48, announced on Friday that after a challenging journey, she is now free of breast cancer and felt compelled to share her story.
The former spouse of Donald Trump Jr. and mother of 19-year-old Kai Trump shared that she received her diagnosis six months ago and is relieved to finally move past this ordeal, as reported by the New York Post.
Kai also shared a video where she and her mother discussed the diagnosis. She explained, “So my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in April, so we thought we’d share her story and how she was diagnosed and how she actually overcame it.”
In the video, Vanessa expressed her joy upon receiving the news that her results “came back clear, so I’m finally cancer-free,” embracing her daughter afterwards.
A longer video is set to be released on YouTube soon, featuring Kai, her mom, and Dr. Nicole Saphier discussing Vanessa’s experience with breast cancer, as well as insights on prevention and early detection, according to the Post.
This shorter video was particularly timely, released in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Earlier in August, Kai had shared with Fox News the emotional toll the diagnosis took on the family.
As she prepared to transition to college, she reflected on how that period was especially tough. “There was definitely, there was a lot of crying in, like, the week leading up. We would just be driving, and then we’d just start crying together,” she noted, while mentioning that her mother’s treatment was proving effective.
“My mom, she’s doing a lot better. Kind of after treatment, she wasn’t feeling very good. Just like how treatment will make you feel… but she’s getting a lot better now,” Kai added.
Social media users responded to the shared video with their personal stories. One commented, “My mom had breast cancer twice, Ovarian cancer, skin cancer, a few cancerous tumors, and in the end, she had bone marrow cancer. Now she’s in heaven with Jesus. I am so glad your mom is doing well. Keep fighting cancer sucks!!!”
Another wrote, “Thank you, Kai, for using your platform to share such a meaningful and necessary message! It is truly inspiring to hear about your mom’s journey and to see you both spreading awareness together. Early detection truly saves lives! Sending lots of love and support to you and your mom.”
The Mayo Clinic reports that breast cancer survival rates are improving, with a decline in cancer-related deaths over the years.
