Venezuelan gang member facing charges was permitted entry into the US and granted a work permit by the Biden administration.

A Venezuelan man, accused of gang rape, was allowed entry into the United States under the Biden administration, where he subsequently received a work permit.

Anthony Fabian Marine La Torre, 42, came under scrutiny from immigration and customs enforcement in Grapevine, Texas, on May 2. Reports indicate that officials were alerted to Marine La Torre’s criminal background due to a request from Interpol regarding his involvement in a contract murder.

Marine La Torre had previously entered the U.S. illegally through San Luis, Arizona, on September 26, 2022. It was only in February of this year that Interpol issued a “red notice” for his arrest.

A month after his border crossing, he checked in with ICE in Dallas, where he was told he needed to appear in Immigration Court on July 23, 2025.

Venezuelan nationals, including Marine La Torre, had applied for a federal work permit available since June 2023.

He also sought asylum and protected status, but those applications were still pending.

At the time of his entry, the Venezuelan government had not shared complete records with the Biden administration, suggesting that border patrol agents might have been unaware of his criminal record when he arrived from Mexico.

Meanwhile, during President Trump’s administration, communication related to law enforcement between the U.S. and Venezuela resumed, allowing for deportation flights back to Venezuela.

Currently, Marine La Torre is being held at the Prairiland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas.
