During an appearance on FNC’s “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Tuesday, Rep. James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, expressed concerns about Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN)’s potential ties to the Chinese government.
The Kentucky Republican said Walz sees China’s political system as an ideal model for the United States and that China may be “nurturing” him with long-term goals.
“If an American went to China 30 times in the ’90s, they’d have been caught on security cameras,” FNC host Jesse Watters said. “There’s security camera footage of, presumably, their honeymoon night. How is this compromised? They were worried about Trump getting caught up in a pee tape scandal, but that was all a fabrication. This is a serious issue.”
“Very seriously. China is thinking long term,” Comer responded. “It’s very possible that China is trying to develop a rising star. Political “They are trying to establish a foothold in the government. They are doing the same in the military. They have even been caught setting up spy rings on universities.”
“This is the Chinese way,” he continued. “They’re thinking long term. And again, I can’t say this enough. If you look at Hunter Biden’s ties to Communist China, it was for money. Waltz’s ties may be for ideology, but this is something that should concern us and we’re trying to gather as much information as we can, as quickly as we can, to present to the American people.”
