An ad from Veterans Action critiques New York City’s socialist mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdani, branding his views as “radical Islamic policies.”
The advertisement, initially reported by Breitbart News, highlights Mamdani’s association with “a radical Islamic cleric linked to the World Trade Center bombing,” suggesting he embodies a foreign-born Islamist image.
“He refused to say Hamas should lay down its arms,” the narrator asserts. “A person like this shouldn’t be mayor.”
Mark Lucas, founder of Veterans Action, expressed his disbelief that a foreign-born Islamist might become New York’s next mayor. “Post-9/11 veterans are shocked,” he stated.
Lucas went on to describe Mamdani as “an unapologetic Islamic Marxist who associates with terrorist sympathizers,” claiming he poses a threat to the country.
During an interview on Fox News Channel, the Queens congressman was pressed about his views on Hamas’s actions and notably refrained from stating that Hamas should cease violence.
“You criticized Israel and the U.S. for their reaction to the October 7th incident,” host Martha McCollum pointed out, noting that he sometimes left out mentions of that event entirely in his remarks.
She continued, “While you’ve discussed Israelis harming some Palestinians, Hamas is also inflicting harm on Palestinians in Gaza, failing to return bodies they promised to, including those of two Americans. What are your thoughts on Hamas’s current actions?”
Mamdani sidestepped the question about whether Hamas should lay down its arms, instead stating, “I believe these bodies and ashes should definitely be returned. I see nothing wrong with critiquing both Hamas and the Israeli government, as my critiques stem from a universal human rights perspective. My immediate focus is on making New York City more affordable for all.”
He added, “The future of New York City must ensure affordability for everyone, and regarding Israel and Palestine, achieving peace is paramount.”
When asked again if Hamas should disarm and relinquish control in Gaza, Mamdani avoided a straightforward response, saying, “I don’t have a specific opinion on the future of Hamas and Israel except regarding justice, security, and adherence to international law.”
Additionally, it was revealed that Mamdani made misleading claims about an “aunt” who supposedly suffered from the September 11 attacks due to her reluctance to wear a hijab.
As reported by Breitbart News, “Mamdani has only one aunt, Masuma Mamdani, who does not wear a hijab and was not in New York or the United States during the September 11, 2001 attacks.”
The mayoral election is set for Tuesday, November 4th.
