Vice President JD Vance labels Jen Psaki's comments about his wife Usha as 'shameful'

Vice President J.D. Vance Responds to Jen Psaki’s Comments

Vice President J.D. Vance has spoken out against former White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s remarks, which he described as “disgraceful.” Psaki implied during a podcast that Vance’s wife, Usha Vance, might be afraid of her husband.

Vance, addressing reporters in Israel, expressed his embarrassment over the comments but noted that Usha is capable of speaking for herself. “I’m very lucky to have a wonderful wife,” he added, emphasizing how honored he was to have her with him on this trip.

On the podcast “I’ve Had It,” Psaki suggested that Vance could be considered more intimidating than former President Donald Trump. “I always wonder what’s going on in his wife’s mind. Are you okay? Blink four times. We’re here. We’ll save you,” she joked.

Vance countered this by saying he’s focused on being a good father and fulfilling his duties in office. Meanwhile, social media was buzzing with reactions to Psaki’s comments after a clip of the podcast went viral. One critic, linked to Trump’s team, accused her of projecting her own issues onto others, asserting that she compensates for a lack of talent by lying.

Fox News contributor Joe Concha echoed this sentiment, describing Psaki as “not a good person.” The criticism seems to be gaining traction, with commentators rallying against her statements.

Usha Vance, who met J.D. at Yale Law School, has a notable background in law, having clerked for Chief Justice John Roberts as well as Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In J.D.’s memoir, he referred to her as his “guide to the Yale spirit,” sharing how she helped him feel at home during his time there.

The couple welcomed their first child, Ewan, in June 2017, followed by their second son, Vivek, in February 2020, and their daughter Mirabel in December 2021.
