A Jewish man who had a bag of dog poop thrown in his face by a bigot on a bicycle predicted he wouldn’t spend a day in jail, even if the culprit was caught.
“Being realistic, I know that if this guy were caught, he wouldn’t go to prison or receive a severe sentence,” the 32-year-old Hasidic father of four told The Post, blasting New York’s soft-on-crime policies that encourage criminals.
“In terms of prosecutions, that’s the biggest problem: people aren’t afraid,” he said of a recent string of hate attacks against Jewish victims.
“The key thing is that if the city council took this seriously or the justice system was a little stronger, this would be less likely to happen.”
The victim, who asked not to be named out of fear, was returning home from work in Soho on June 4 when a man on a bicycle allegedly shouted “Fuck you, Jew” at him, threw a bag at his head and drove off.
“He threw the bag straight at me,” the victim said in a phone interview, “and it hit me in the side of the face and went flying into the car.”
The horrific incident left the lifelong New Yorker shaken.
“I don’t feel comfortable coming out of the office too late,” he said.
He added that this was the second time he had been attacked for being Jewish, since he was beaten about 12 years ago.
“This was a month or two after we were married,” he recalled, adding that he was on honeymoon in Los Angeles, California at the time.

“I was just walking and this stranger came up to me,” he said. “I had a coffee in my hand. He hit my coffee and punched me.”
The June 4 incident came amid a surge in anti-Semitic attacks across New York in the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas.
Anti-Semitic hate crimes increased 150% in May compared to the same month in 2023, according to NYPD data.
“I never thought I’d be part of the statistics,” the victim said.
Since October 7, his Jewish colleagues have refused to board the train for fear of becoming victims.
But he has no intention of changing his habits.
“Someone told me I should wear a hat and hide my yarmulke. I would never do that.”
The assailants remained at large Wednesday.
