Giants’ Painful Loss Reflects Frustration Among Fans

Victor Cruz, like many Giants fans, felt the sting of disappointment on Monday night.

After kicker Yonghoe Koo missed a crucial field goal during the Giants’ 33-15 defeat to the Patriots, the former wide receiver took to Instagram to share his frustration in the comments section of a SportsCenter post summarizing the game.

“I threw the drink across the room,” Cruz remarked, which resonated with other viewers still processing the unfortunate kicking error.

One comment captured the sentiment: “Unbearable to watch,” while another simply noted, “A reasonable crush.”

The night was likely one the Giants wanted to forget almost immediately.

After finding themselves in a 17-0 hole in the first quarter, the Giants managed to score a touchdown in the second quarter.

With about six minutes left in the half, trailing by 10 points, Koo attempted a field goal but failed to convert. This led to holder Jamie Gillan being taken down after mishandling the snap.

Koo explained, “I got close to the ball, but the cold weather made it come out from under me. I just couldn’t kick it through. It was moving as I was approaching it, so I pulled it up.”

Cruz, a Super Bowl-winning receiver for the Giants, wasn’t alone in his embarrassment. Eli Manning, who played alongside Cruz for seven seasons, voiced his disbelief on ESPN’s “Manning Cast,” where he was joined by his brother Peyton and guest Danny DeVito.

“I’ve never seen anything like that,” the two-time Super Bowl champion remarked.

With this latest loss, the Giants now stand at 2 wins and 11 losses, leaving them with a bye week ahead. They’ll return to the field on December 14th against the Commanders, who have 3 wins and 9 losses under their belt.
