Video Allegedly Shows Democrat Mayor Flee From Reporters To Getaway Car, Avoiding Questions

Democratic Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was shown on video running away from reporters and getting into a getaway car to avoid questions.

Footage posted on Twitter by CBS reporter Darius Johnson shows journalists, including Johnson, chasing a man who appeared to be the mayor of Chicago as they tried to question him about the recent death of Chicago Police Department (CPD) officer Luis Huesca. “Mr. Mayor! Mayor, could you wait? Mayor, why do you have to run away from us?” a reporter shouted.

“Mayor, we just want your comment on last night’s arrest related to Officer Huesca,” the CBS reporter said. “He just ran.”

In response to Darius’ Twitter post, Johnson’s office answered In response to the outlet’s claim that the person in the video was Mayor Brandon Johnson and that the person filmed running was trying to catch the car before it took off.

Huesca, 30, was shot and killed on April 21 while returning home from his shift after his ShotSpotter alarm went off. according to Go to CBS News. The tragic incident led authorities to a nearly two-week search for the gunman, a six-year veteran.

By Wednesday evening, Chicago police announced they had arrested Xavier Tate Jr., 22, who was charged with first-degree murder on an April 26 arrest warrant, the newspaper reported. Tate was pulled from a second-floor apartment in a Glendale Heights complex by CPD officers and the Great Lakes Regional Task Force, according to CBS News.
