Critics are labeling Bruce Springsteen a “billionaire hypocrite” as he embarks on his politically charged concert tour in 2026, which includes recent shows in Cleveland and Boston. While his dedicated fans might appreciate any performance, ticket prices have sometimes topped $1,000, leading some to question the singer’s choice to include political commentary in his shows.

Elon Musk has jumped into the conversation, calling Springsteen a “billionaire hypocrite” who “hates America.” This came after a post highlighted the fact that Springsteen’s political statements during concerts weren’t always spontaneous; he reportedly used a teleprompter for his remarks.

On social media, many users have criticized the singer for his perceived arrogance regarding his political views.

Springsteen’s hometown paper has also weighed in, criticizing what they described as his “hypocritical” behavior on stage. They noted that his image as a champion of the working class seems increasingly at odds with ticket prices that can reach as high as $2,900, which he accepted despite pushback from fans. They pointed out that he also sells “No Kings” flags for $90 at his concerts and has taken legal action against independent vendors selling T-shirts nearby, contradicting the working-class ethos he has championed for decades.
