Video captures man reenacting Charlie Kirk murder at college vigil

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has called for the expulsion of a student from Texas State University after a video surfaced showing the student impersonating conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a campus event held by Turning Point USA. The footage, recorded on Monday at the San Marcos campus, allegedly depicts a man cursing at the crowd, mimicking an assault, and feigning a shooting.

The individual stands before a statue, introduces himself as “Charlie Kirk,” pretends to be shot, and then collapses to the ground.

Abbott responded in a post, stating, “This behavior is not accepted in our schools. We’ll expel this student right away. We need consequences for trivializing assassination.” Texas House Speaker Kelly Dunfords echoed this sentiment, indicating that the university would take suitable action.

“I’ve instructed university officials to quickly identify the individual in the video,” Damphousse, possibly an official, said. “Any actions that trivialize or promote violence conflict with the values of TXST. We won’t tolerate it.”

Dunfords made it clear that if the person in question is affiliated with the university, further actions would follow. “No expression that glorifies violence or murder has a place on our campus.”

This incident comes shortly after another Texas Tech student was arrested for allegedly making troubling remarks during a vigil for Kirk.

In a separate video, Camryn Giselle Booker was seen yelling near the Student Union building, stating, “F– Y’all, Homie Dead, he was shot in the head.” Booker is facing misdemeanor assault charges, according to law enforcement.

Texas Tech has confirmed that she is no longer enrolled at the institution.
