A 16-year-old girl was hospitalized after falling several feet from a ski lift while snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in California.
The horrific incident, captured on video, occurred in the morning hours of January 27th.
Initially, the teenage girl was seen dangling from the lift and it appeared other lift users were unable to pull her into a seat.
The girl was seen dangling for several minutes as ski lift workers rushed to her rescue, using nets to cushion her fall.

“Five Mammoth Mountain employees and eight guests responded immediately and installed deceleration nets beneath the guests,” mountain management said in a written statement to ABC 7 Los Angeles.
These efforts were not enough and the girl was seen falling out of the elevator and into the rescue team below.
“As Guest slipped from the hands of her chairmate, the net slowed her fall but did not stop her. Guest was taken to Mammoth Hospital for evaluation. Our thoughts are with Guest and her… family,” a resort spokesperson said. .

An update on the boy’s condition was not immediately available.
With a base elevation of approximately 8,000 feet, Mammoth Mountain is the highest ski area in California and averages 400 inches of snowfall per season.

This latest incident at a California ski resort comes days after a snowboarder was trapped in a ski gondola at a Lake Tahoe resort overnight for 15 hours.
Fox News Digital reached out to Mammoth Mountain for more information but has not yet received a response.
