Exclusive: PITTSBURGH — Video taken by James Copenhaver, one of the victims seriously injured in the July 13 assassination attempt on former President Trump, shows a figure moving across the roof of the American Glass Research (AGR) building minutes before shots rang out at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

In the video taken at 6:08 p.m. on July 13, a person appears on the roof of a building adjacent to where President Trump is speaking, and is seen walking from the 1 minute 00 second mark to around 2 minutes 50 seconds.

Authorities believe the shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, began firing with an AR-15 folding rifle three minutes later, at approximately 6:11 p.m. A counter sniper shot and killed Crooks shortly thereafter, and law enforcement officials found eight shell casings near his body.

Crooks killed 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, a husband, father and former Buffalo Township Fire Chief, in an attempted assassination of the former president. Crooks also seriously injured 74-year-old Copenhaver and 57-year-old David Duch. Both victims were shot twice, according to a person familiar with the incident.

Attorney Joseph Feldman of the Law Offices of Max C. Feldman said Copenhaver was not filming when he was shot. Feldman said Copenhaver stopped filming when everyone turned their heads to look at the projection screen.

As the first shots rang out, Trump and the rally attendees turned to a big screen displaying immigration statistics.

“He apparently saw or heard something go past him, it was a bullet. He felt the bullet in his arm and looked down at his arm… He felt pain at first, but at that point he didn’t even realize he’d been shot a second time. He may have been in shock,” Feldman said of Copenhaver.

Prior to the July 6 shooting, Crooks, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, researched how far Oswald was from the late President John F. Kennedy when he assassinated him in 1963.

On July 7, he went to the rally and spent about 20 minutes in the area, according to Kevin Rojek, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office.
