Intruder’s Chaotic Attempt to Break In Captured on Doorbell Camera
A doorbell camera video from Fairfield, California has gone viral, sending chills through suburban neighborhoods. The footage shows a man, apparently unhinged, trying to break into a home while a woman and a child are present inside.
The video features 30-year-old Jason Nichols roaming around the property. He can be seen confronting the homeowner through the Ring camera. At first, he inquires whether it’s alright to open the door, and then oddly questions the whereabouts of the resident’s daughter.
Following an unwelcoming response from the homeowner, who wasn’t present at the time, Nichols became furious. Authorities later confirmed that his wife and child were inside the home during this tense encounter.
In a fit of rage, he pounded on the doors, tore off the doorbell, and made threats, even attempting to kick in the front door.
According to police, the homeowner’s husband noticed the chaos via surveillance footage and rushed back home. After failing to force the front door open, Nichols managed to slide into the residence through a back door, while the terrified family remained inside. Things escalated quickly from there.
Upon entering, Nichols confronted the husband, armed with a shovel, which led to a violent exchange that resulted in injuries to both men.
Police arrived shortly after, finding Nichols outside the house. He was then taken to a local hospital and subsequently arrested on several felony charges stemming from the break-in attempt.
This unsettling incident occurred on Burbank Court and has gained significant attention on social media, with many viewers shocked by Nichols’ behavior and the situation’s intensity. Fortunately, the woman and child emerged from the ordeal physically unharmed. Nichols’ bail has been set at $35,000, and he is expected to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon.
