Arizona Police Deliver Pizza After Driver’s Arrest
A recent video has gone viral showing Arizona police officers stepping in to deliver pizza after the delivery driver was taken into custody during a traffic stop. The Tempe Police Department shared the clip on social media, humorously noting, “When a Grubhub driver is arrested… Tempe Police will deliver it.”
The incident took place on July 4th and revealed officers bringing the pizza to surprised customers at their doors. One noteworthy moment occurred when a confused customer opened the door to find two police officers standing there with her pizza order.
“How are you?” one officer asked, to which the customer responded, “Like. How are you?”
Another officer assured her, “So, your Grubhub man was arrested and we still delivered your pizza.”
As the delivery unfolded, the customer expressed her gratitude, saying, “I’m really grateful for the pizza.” The officer made sure the order was still warm, adding a light-hearted touch to the situation.
The police department posted the video on their account, detailing how committed they are to serving the community, whether it’s in emergencies or delivering pizza. They stated, “The order was hot and ready and the suspect was caught.”
Authorities later informed that the delivery driver faced charges of reckless driving and racing. Grubhub was contacted for comments on the unusual incident.
