Jimmy Kimmel’s Mock Roast at the White House Correspondents Dinner

During Thursday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host delivered a humorous take on the White House Correspondents Dinner, which notably included a quip about President Donald Trump aimed at First Lady Melania Trump.

Kimmel focused on Melania, throwing in jabs at President Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and other White House figures. “And, of course, our first lady, Melania, is here. Look, she’s so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have the glow of a pregnant widow,” he remarked, drawing laughter from the audience.

His 10-minute monologue was designed as a chance to make jokes that, as he put it, a comedian might make if the president wasn’t someone who, well, tends to be sensitive about comedy. This segment aired a few days before the actual White House Correspondents Dinner, an event overshadowed by a recent incident where a man, Cole Thomas Allen, reportedly burst through a security checkpoint and shot a Secret Service agent before being subdued.

Allen, who has connections to Kamala Harris, is set to face multiple federal charges in court on Monday.

President Trump’s remarks came shortly after the shooting was broadcast on major news networks. In a Fox News interview, he described Allen as a “sick man,” adding that the individual harbored hatred for Christians, and there were concerns raised about him by family members.

A senior White House official mentioned that Allen had written a manifesto and was involved in left-wing protests, which created additional concern.

It’s worth noting that Kimmel faced backlash last year after suggesting that MAGA supporters were responsible for the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
