Reports indicate that Nick Reiner was filmed nonchalantly purchasing a drink at a gas station shortly before his arrest on suspicion of murdering his parents, renowned filmmakers, at their Los Angeles residence.
The video shows Reiner, aged 32, appearing unnervingly composed while he waited to buy canned beverages inside a store on Sunday night.
Clad in jeans, a striped jacket, a baseball cap, and carrying a red backpack, he is seen withdrawing his wallet to pay the cashier.
This footage was recorded just moments before he turned himself in to law enforcement on a street in Los Angeles, approximately 25 miles from where he allegedly committed the murders of Rob and Michelle Reiner at their Brentwood mansion, local news outlets noted.
Additional video captured the moment he surrendered, arms raised, as several police cars arrived at the scene around 9:15 p.m.
Shortly thereafter, more police vehicles arrived, and officers positioned themselves with their weapons drawn, directing them at Reiner.
Another image, since removed by the Los Angeles Police Department’s gang and drug task force, showed the distraught individual lying on the pavement, forced to the ground and in handcuffs.
He appeared to still be dressed in the same outfit he wore while shopping at the convenience store.
Further footage captured Reiner strolling calmly in front of a local gas station just before midnight on Saturday, just hours before the murder of his parents early Sunday.
By the time their daughter Romy found them later that afternoon, Rob and Michelle had already been deceased for several hours and were exhibiting signs of rigor mortis, according to law enforcement sources.
Currently, Reiner is being held without bail and reportedly placed on suicide watch following his arrest.
He faces two counts of murder for the deaths of Rob and Michelle.
