A Southern California family caught a bear stealing watermelon from their garage refrigerator on Sunday.
Chris Yee captured video of the incident, which shows the bear opening the door and rummaging through the refrigerator for snacks, Fox 9 report.
“Dad, the freezer is open! Dad, it’s like the inside of the freezer and it’s open,” Yi’s daughter can be heard saying in the video.
In the middle of the video, the garage door begins to close and the bear runs out into the driveway, in the process triggering the garage door’s motion sensor and causing the door to return to the open position. The bear then re-enters the garage and continues looking for snacks.
Another video shows the bear lying in a garden and eating watermelon slices taken from the refrigerator.
“The bear took a third of the sliced watermelon out of the refrigerator and walked to the front yard to sit down and eat it,” Yi told FOX 9.
“Thankfully, it really just seemed to get a quarter of the watermelon out with its mouth without disturbing anything else,” he said. Said ABC7.
