Video Shows Car Wreck Dealership. Utah Man Was Denied Car Return, Police Say

A man crashed his car into a dealership's storefront in Sandy, Utah, on Monday after he refused to return it, police said.

According to the Sandy Police Department (SPD), the driver obtained the vehicle from Tim Dahl Mazda that morning. FOX13 News Reported. He attempted to return the vehicle, believed to be a Subaru Outback, but a mechanical problem was allegedly found. Authorities said the dealer told him there would be no exchange or refund because the car was sold “as is.”

Police said the man told staff he would walk through the dealership unless they allowed him to return the car. According to law enforcement, he “did just that” around 4 p.m.

The video shows the man accelerating his car into the front window of the dealership, breaking the glass and blowing out the desk.

The man, wearing a gray and black long-sleeved shirt, tried to open the car door, which was blocked by a brown desk. He then appeared to raise his voice at the person filming his rant, slam the door, and leave through the shattered doorway.
