A suspect accused of slashing the head of an 11-year-old girl and punching a woman was chased by an angry mob in New York City. However, NYPD officers protected the suspect from a group of vigilante justice seekers.
An 11-year-old girl was slashed near the East 116th Street subway station in East Harlem around 2:15 p.m. Friday, police said. The girl was stabbed in the back of the head with a knife and her ear was cut as she stood holding her hand with her mother at a downtown home, her sources said. new york post. The suspect, who reportedly had a long rap sheet, allegedly ran into a subway station, boarded a train and fled the crime scene.
The stabbing victim’s mother chased the suspected attacker, but was able to escape.
An anonymous MTA official said: WPIX“I saw a man. He was getting off the train car and was near the third rail. I asked him what happened and people chased him and tried to kill him, but people said he stabbed him. I saw the police running towards us and someone grabbed him but he managed to escape. ”
Just before slashing the girl, the suspect allegedly punched an unsuspecting 43-year-old woman on a street corner.
The victim’s mother, Gorzata Sladek, told the New York Post: “It was traumatic. It was horrible. It’s horrible to see a little girl with her head cut off and cut in two. It’s just horrible. ” he said.

The girl was treated by doctors near the juice bar and then taken to a local hospital. She needed multiple stitches to repair her cut and she underwent staple surgery.
The angry mob pursued the suspect and was able to corner him on a street about a block away from where he allegedly struck the woman.
Several NYPD officers were required to protect the suspect from a crowd demanding street justice. The video shows rioters screaming and one man prodding the suspect with a cane.
Multiple men tried to attack the suspect and had to be separated.
A man in the crowd could be heard yelling, “You son of a bitch!”
Police arrested 30-year-old Shaquan Cummings. He was charged with two counts of assault and child endangerment.
The paper noted that Cummings has been arrested more than 20 times, including for assault, criminal mischief and fare evasion. He was last arrested on suspicion of assault two months ago.
Sladek said: “You don’t have to worry about someone walking down the street and attacking you. In fact, my daughter doesn’t attack dogs, she attacks small children. ” he said.
Her distraught mother said her daughter was “not doing well mentally”.
“She doesn’t want to go back to school. She doesn’t want to go out anymore,” Sladek said.
