Two teenagers from Florida have been charged with attempted murder, and there’s a video that supposedly shows them laughing about their scheme while being transported in a police car.
On January 23, Isabel Valdez, 15, and Lois Lippert, 14, faced arrest after authorities were tipped off about a disturbing plan involving the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter, aiming to kill fellow students.
In the recorded footage, Valdez is seen making jokes while Lippert reacts with laughter, even in light of the serious nature of the allegations from the Altamonte Springs Police.
Remarkably, Valdez identifies as transgender and prefers the name “Jimmy,” according to court documents.
After police alerted school officials, the assistant principal at Lake Brantley High School questioned Valdez, who admitted to plotting the murder and handed over a backpack filled with a knife, gloves, trash bags, and wipes.
Valdez claimed that voices in her head urged her to kill a specific student to somehow resurrect Adam Lanza, the perpetrator of the Sandy Hook tragedy, who killed 26 individuals in 2012.
In the police video that was released, the two even discuss makeup for their mugshots, with Valdez saying, “I was trying to get some makeup done for my headshot this morning, but I couldn’t find anything.” Lippert scoffed in response, saying she didn’t care how it looked anymore.
“Why are you touching my butt?” Valdez jokingly asked at one point, to which Lippert enthusiastically replied, “This is such a bonding experience! I love it!”
Later, Valdez expressed her surprise, saying, “I thought I was going to go to jail. [expletive] Psychiatric ward. That’s why I was so excited about everything.”
The two discussed a blood pact to bring Lanza back and speculated about who had informed the authorities. Prosecutors alleged the teens had intended to slit a student’s throat in a bathroom and drink his blood.
In a revealing moment, Valdez stated during the recording, “I don’t feel guilty about my actions.”
The prosecution brought the video during a hearing to argue against bail, and the judge sided with them. Both teens remain in custody as the legal proceedings continue.
The mother of the intended target expressed her shattered sense of safety after the incident, stating, “I was destroyed and I still am. I will never be the same.” She described the experience as profoundly painful and overwhelming, saying, “I got sick many times. I’m still scared.”
