Woman Thwarts Car Intruder at Hollywood Gas Station
In a surprising turn of events, surveillance footage from a gas station in Hollywood captured a woman effortlessly dragging a man out of her car and tossing him to the ground. This incident occurred on a Tuesday as Starr Carter was sitting in the driver’s seat of her red Alfa Romeo.
The situation escalated when an unknown man attempted to open the passenger door. Meanwhile, her husband, Michael Carter, was filling up the gas tank on the opposite side of the car.
Michael recounted, “I stood up and yelled, ‘Get out of here!’ as I made my way towards the passenger side.” But, surprisingly, after he returned to the front seat, the man sneaked around, opened the driver’s rear door, and climbed into the back, as seen in the video.
“I was struggling with him inside the car, pushing and shoving, and then suddenly, he was gone,” Michael said. He couldn’t contain his amazement and expressed his astonishment while watching, “Ah… ah!”
Starr, not to be deterred, hopped out of the driver’s seat, went to the back door, pulled the intruder out, and threw him to the ground. She later reflected on the unexpected adrenaline rush, sharing, “It felt like a Kendrick Lamar verse. I was thinking, ‘Bing bap, boom, bap!’ It’s all a blur.” She chuckled, admitting, “I really don’t know why I reacted that way.”
While the intruder fled after being forcefully ejected, Starr also admonished him, saying, “Don’t ever do anything stupid like this again!”
Interestingly, after the incident, the Carters went about their evening plans—attending a comedy show at the Hollywood Improv Theater. Their daughter later remarked to KCBS, “Mom definitely fought back. It was a fight-or-flight situation, and she chose to fight.”
Starr also shared her concerns about the intruder’s state, telling police that she suspected he might have been under the influence of drugs during the ordeal.
Ultimately, Michael expressed gratitude for Starr’s bravery, jokingly declaring, “She truly is my hero. Thank you, Starr!”
